| Capitol Drive Program
This is the future home of the Capitol drive program.
Here
is an update on the CCDR situation that
engrosses us in 2004. In June, 2003, we
launched the Capitol Drive “Bricks and
Mortar” program to extend the space and
add climate control for CCDR’s library
and archives.
As you may know, the CCDR world-class
library and archives long ago outgrew
the available space at the CCDR
facility. In addition, they have never
been protected by adequate climate
control. Over the years CCDR improvised
and struggled to provide space and the
correct humidity and temperature to
house these precious collections.
The library and archives have reached
such critical proportions that the
current space, inadequate in every way,
must be augmented and modernized lest
the library and archives risk
irreversible damage.
The goal is to raise $200,000 by the end
of 2006.
CCDR members, sponsors and funders are
encouraged to contribute as much as
possible to this Drive. Please help
CCDR attain its goal for responsible
storage of the collections. The results
will also enhance the accessibility of
the library and archives to researchers.
Check back soon for updates and additions.
